Know The Difference Between Apples and Oranges........
Established in 1971, by the Martin Willitts family, the credit union provided a convenient savings mechanism for employees of P&C.  Mr. Willitts vision was to be able to provide low cost financial services to members that would have a positive impact on their lives.  We started our operation from a small trailer located on the grounds of the State Fair Boulevard warehouse.  In 1982, due to it's growth and need for space, the credit union moved to it's first building on Osceola Road in Lakeland.  Then in 1995, as our membership continued to grow, we purchased our own building one block down the street at 933 State Fair Boulevard.

Today, we have grown to a $9 million dollar credit union.  Because our credit union and P&C are very committed to the community, we received a charter from the federal government to allow us the opportunity to serve our local community and their financial needs.  In order to accomplish that, we have worked hard to add essential services for our members such as drive-thru teller lanes, a drive-up ATM machine, and spacious parking and lobby.  Since we have opened our doors to the Town of Geddes community, we changed our name to reflect our mission, to provide the best in financial services, Providers Federal Credit Union.

Today, Providers Federal Credit Union is 2400 members strong and offers a wide variety of services, benefits, and products to meet everyones financial needs.  We are in line with todays modern technology that allows ease and convenience to every transaction.  And our brand new facility due to open in November is state of the art.

The Board of Directors are members, just like you, who have been elected by the membership.  They are responsible for establishing the policies within regulatory guidelines.  As volunteers, they update and approve new programs to provide you with the best financial services available.

We are a full service credit union.  We offer many services, from share (savings) products, Club Accounts (Christmas, vacation, tax...), IRA's, CD's, Checking accounts (with debit cards), ATM access through the Sharenet Network (free), and all kinds of loan products. We also offer U.S. Savings Bonds, Teller Checks and Money Orders, American Express Travelers Cheques, Reduced Priced Theme Park Tickets, Notary Services, Coin Counter, and much more.

Credit unions exist only to serve their members, not to make profits.  We treat our members right, with personal service and free or low cost products, something banks don't offer you. The money you put into the credit union stays local.  Credit unions are simply "people helping people".  There really is a difference, just like apples and oranges.
